The AMETI Eastern Busway is a $1 billion programme of work that will create a dedicated, congestion-free busway between Panmure, Pakuranga, and Botany town centres.
The busway is supported by new cycling and walking connections, urban design improvements, and safety and signal improvements at key intersections.
The construction includes a new offline busway, road and intersection upgrades, utility work, retaining structures, several new bridges and a significant flyover structure. Undertaking these works within one of Auckland’s busiest and least flexible road corridors, requires complex construction staging, sequencing and traffic management to minimise impacts on traffic and the surrounding businesses and residents.
Alta has been supporting AT on the AMETI project since 2017 across the design, consenting and construction procurement phases of stage 1 and ongoing support of stages 2 and 3.
Alta provided packaging and procurement advice, constructability reviews, construction traffic impact assessment, programming, and subject matter expert support during the tender phase.
