Alex Oakley
Associate
Alex is a qualified mechanical engineer who has transitioned into the civil infrastructure space in recent years. With a strong foundation in engineering principles and a curiosity for how things work, he brings a pragmatic, systems-focused mindset to every project.
He takes pride in being involved across the full project lifecycle, from early concept design through to construction and delivery. A firm believer in doing things right the first time, Alex places a strong emphasis on detail, quality, and ensuring construction aligns with design intent, even when budget or programme pressures arise.
Alex has worked across New Zealand and Australia, gaining experience on both the civil and mechanical sides of infrastructure. Notable projects include the early stages of the Hamilton Bypass with the City Edge Alliance and, more recently, the Laminex plant in Taupō – a large-scale project he saw through to completion.
Collaboration is central to Alex’s approach. He believes that strong relationships and well-aligned teams consistently produce better outcomes, and he’s always looking for ways to improve processes and methodologies to deliver lasting value to the communities his projects serve.
