Len is an experienced civil engineer with over 14 years of infrastructure delivery experience in New Zealand and South Africa, including the last eight years based in New Zealand. He brings deep expertise in contract administration, construction management, and programme controls, underpinned by strong working knowledge of NZS 3910 and public sector delivery frameworks.
Throughout his career, Len has delivered a wide range of civil infrastructure projects, from water and wastewater treatment plants to pump stations, trunk mains, stormwater networks, and roading upgrades. His background in civil contracting gives him a practical, hands-on understanding of construction challenges, which he now applies in consultancy to add value across the full project lifecycle.
Len is known for his technical capability, attention to detail, and calm, solutions-focused approach. He proactively challenges inefficient processes, always seeking to streamline delivery, reduce risk, and improve outcomes. His ability to bridge technical detail with strategic oversight makes him a valuable contributor to complex, multidisciplinary programmes.
Since joining Alta, Len has supported local government and transport sector clients on a range of high-profile infrastructure programmes. He currently serves as Engineer’s Representative on key wastewater projects and is being considered for leadership roles in programme and scheduling on major transport upgrades.
Len is particularly well suited to roles that require independent judgement, contractual leadership, and a strong understanding of project risk, cost, programme, and quality.
