With nearly 20 years in the civil construction industry, Matt brings a well-rounded and practical perspective to infrastructure delivery. His experience enables him to provide valuable feedback to designers and collaborate effectively with construction teams to achieve the best possible project outcomes.

Matt has worked across a wide range of sectors including hydro and geothermal electric power, residential development, land surveying, and civil infrastructure. Career highlights include being part of the Christchurch rebuild through SCIRT, delivering complex greenfield developments across Auckland, and playing a key role in New Zealand’s first programme alliance with Kāinga Ora, contributing to the delivery of build-ready land and helping enable thousands of new, healthy homes across the country.

As a TOC (Target Out-Turn Cost) Project Manager with Piritahi and LEAD Alliance, Matt has overseen large-scale infrastructure projects. This role required leadership and collaboration during budget development across design, methodology, constructability, cost estimation, and coordination with the independent estimators. Key projects included 9km of Overhead-Undergrounding in Oranga, stormwater and open space upgrades at Molley Green and Freeland Reserves, and various projects across the Northcote, Māngere and Roskill precincts.

Matt is also equally comfortable on site or behind the desk.  He enjoys taking projects from concept to completion. His early background includes work as a building apprentice on commercial developments, time on drilling rigs in WA and Taupō, and surveying roles on major land development and roading projects like the SH1 Eastern Taupō Arterial.

Outside of work, Matt is a hands-on parent with three young boys (soon to be four), and has been cycling to work since 2023. Known for his calm, collaborative style, Matt brings both technical depth and a grounded, real-world approach to project delivery.
